Yeah I know, I know... So it's snowing. But this came out of no where and here in Beaverton, OR it rarely snows in February. So, I thought I would take a quick video of the white flakes falling from the sky on my walk in to the MJ building. Crazy.
Another CELEBRATION today! That's 2 in a row this week. Today's lunch event was to wish the best for Lisa in her new role starting on Monday, February 15th.
The surprise lunch was at the Joan Benoit Building specifically in the Bowdin Room. We had an excellent hostess who greeted us and took our coats. As we waited for everyone to show up, we ordered our drinks and talked about how many of us had never been in or seen the Bowdin Room. About 5 minutes later Lisa walked in with a coworker and we all yelled, "Surprise"!
Lunch was excellent! Our set lunch menu was:
• Tarheel Salad
• Chicken & Salmon
• Chefs choice Starch & Veggies
• Dessert
• Choice of 2 beverages
Once we were all stuffed from the wonderful food & dessert we presented Lisa with a collage of photos from past events & get togethers. I was able to catch her reaction in the video below (excuse the shakiness of the camera).
So, every Thursday morning we have a radio show (KAOS) and this week the show had some of our Summer interns. I did not get to listen to the show, but from what I had heard from my co-worker the U of Michigan intern started trash talking Ohio St and speaks to a video on YouTube promoting the Human Race. My co-worker is a fan of Ohio St, mind you...
This co-worker who we will call, "Kathy", got a chuckle out of it at the beginning, but the intern kept going and going and ultimately became obnoxious. Later in the day was the Thirst Thursday Mud Relays outside. "Kathy" and I (with camera in hand) take a stroll out to the event. I am doing my thing taking video and catch this girl fall in the pool during the relay. We watch the video over and over laughing and discover the girl falling is the U of Michigan intern talking smack earlier on the radio.
We get back to our desks and "Kathy" mentions the YouTube video, pulls it up and we watch, once again annoyed. Me being the most familiar with the web, recognizes we can post a response to her video with the one of her falling. Hence, the creation of the video below...
All in good fun :)
The funny thing of it all..? I hate both of these teams. I am a fan of the Florida Gators and oh yeah this guy:

We made a team visit to the Lincoln City Factory Store prior to their Grand Opening on March 11th. It is only a 2 hour drive away so we all hopped in to the "Grocery Getter" (see below).
I got to relax in the backseat of the "Grocery Getter"- was a bit bored so I took a photo of myself and sent it to my peeps on groovr, twitxr and Facebook.
We finally arrive to the store and Erica realized she forgot her camera. I happened to hit the video record button on my camera and told her, "don't worry I've saved the day" - which she confirmed.
For lunch we hit up the only restaurant (mexican) that was open in this small town on a Monday at 1:30p... And with Menudo on the weekends, this must be one happening place during those days!
With food in our stomach, we were energized to finish the remaining items on our list. Thank goodness we had that energy - we did not leave the store until 6:30p or so...
Each month the Inspire Group (a committee of 10 or so people) create activities for the department to participate in for a moral boost. June's activity was a scavenger hunt around the campus. I volunteered to help out the Inspire Group to hand out clues at a destination. Here is the video of my stay outside the Tiger Wood's Convention Center.
So I have been watching ijustine for a while making goofy, wacky videos about random things. Today was Erin's (a co-worker's) birthday, and immediately I knew this was a chance to grab my Canon SD630 and make a video for my blog. What you see above is what I was able to create from iMovie, part of Apple's iLife software. I am a noob at using it, but so far it has been easy to learn.
